“The third pillar involves, with a few
periods of exception, keeping America’s doors to immigration open so that we
are constantly adding both the low-skilled but high-aspiring immigrants who
keep American society energized and the best minds in the world to enrich our
universities, start new companies, and engineer new breakthroughs from medicine
to manufacturing”. (Friedman&Mandelbaum 36)
Apart from perpetually and abundantly molding
the most religiously, culturally, and ethnically diverse nation on Earth,
immigration has ameliorated the country in great measure by allowing legalized
migrants to utilize their perseverance, their talents, ambitious goals, and
hunger for exceptional opportunity and prosperity in America. As mentioned by
Thomas Friedman & Michael Mandelbaum , clearing the way for immigration in
America is a great addition to our universities, establish new businesses, and
conjure up new ideas in the fields of medicine and manufacture. Even James
Smith who is a lead author of the U.S. National Research Council’s study “The
New Americans: Economic, Demographic, and Fiscal effects of Immigration” in
1997, claims that immigrants contribute as much as $10 billion to the
economy yearly, but by today’s standards it has reached to $37 billion dollars!

Immigration will launch a beneficial impact on our universities. Enrollment in our colleges will flourish thanks to our endeavoring and impassioned foreign students. It will provide foreigners with the education they’ll need in today’s workforce and simultaneously meet the needs of today’s labor market in fields that demand high education.

Immigrant-owned small business have been and
continues to be a thriving fuel to America’s economic fire. They are twice as
likely to start a business as native-born Americans and with more businesses
come more wage being put into the economy, which is increasing greatly every
year. Migrant entrepreneurs make up a large number of businesses in many major
cities, especially in Miami, Los Angeles, and New York City. In fact, David Dyssegaard
Kallick, who is a director at the Fiscal Policy Institute, states, “I don’t
think immigrants are ‘super-entrepreneurs‘, but I do see that immigrants are
playing an important and growing role across the American landscape.”

Many careers that require extensive education in this country, are declining with interested students. With some nations possessing a bold focus on education, especially in the medical and technological fields such as many countries in Asia, these doctors, scientists, and engineer hopefuls will be able to raid these careers that immensely require top-notch education and subsequently help provide many different views, ideas, and labor to these essential and advantageous occupations.
This nation thrives off of immigration. Economically, America needs
it. Some gripe immigration for causing
net losses relating to tax paid versus social security received, but according
to the NRC, immigrants have provided a huge gain to economy due to the contributions they
produce. Their benefaction is evident and is vital to rebuilding and
maintaining a structured, and prospering country.
